Bringing Medicine & Medical Manufacturing Back to America
As a nurse, I’ve seen just how serious it gets when there’s a shortage of medication. Right now, we depend on countries like China for nearly all of our antibiotics and active drug ingredients, and that’s putting American lives at risk.
President Trump is right, it’s time to stand up to China, and I will take it a step further and say WE should control our healthcare supply! I will fight alongside our President to fix this in Congress!
1. Impose Strong Tariffs on Chinese Medical Imports
Let’s level the playing field. Foreign manufacturers undercut U.S. companies with unfair trade practices. High tariffs give American businesses a fighting chance and make it cost-effective to produce medicine and equipment here at home.
2. Reopen American Factories
We can revive manufacturing towns across Kentucky and the country by bringing pharmaceutical and medical supply production back. That means more jobs, more opportunity, and less reliance on foreign powers.
3. Protect Our National Security
We should never be at the mercy of China, or anyone else, for life-saving medications. By rebuilding our supply chain in the U.S, we strengthen our readiness for emergencies and future pandemics.
4. Lower Costs in the Long Run
Short-term tariffs are an investment in long-term independence. With innovation and competition at home, American companies can produce safer, higher-quality products at better prices.
Bringing medicine and medical manufacturing back to America keeps our people safe, creates jobs, and secures our future. I support President Trump’s America-first policies, and I will fight in Congress to make sure Kentucky, and the rest of the country, is never left scrambling for the basics again.
